Welcome to Felicity Street!

MISSION:

The goal of Felicity Street Redevelopment is the revitalization of the lower St. Charles Corridor neighborhood, the area bounded by St. Charles Avenue, Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, Calliope Street, and Jackson Avenue. Once a vital part of New Orleans life, the area contains splendid residential and commercial buildings that are waiting to be reclaimed and provide housing for the re-population of the neighborhood.

WHAT WE DO:

• Operate a revolving fund for purchasing, stabilizing/renovating and marketing properties in the lower St. Charles corridor of the Central City Historic District. Some structures have been rescued by being moved to new locations in the district

• Work to strengthen the residents’ collective voice in the neighborhood

• Encourage a dynamic mix of residents in the Central City neighborhood

• Sponsor community events including music programs with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and summer workshops for children

• Promote interest in neighborhood history and revitalization through a traveling exhibition of area photographs

WHO WE ARE:

Board Members: Louise Martin (president), Colleen Evans Lusignan (secretary), Christel Kelley (treasurer), Beau Bassich, Mary Lou Christovich; Paula George; Michelle Kimball; Stanley Meyers; Michael Rouchell; Camille Strachan
